Introducing the 2024 Phoenix Annual Newsletter!
Our 2024 Phoenix Annual Newsletter is here! This issue is full of photos and reflections from our 25th Anniversary celebrations held earlier this year as well as some highlights of recent student events. It has been a joy to see so many members of our community here to celebrate RCHS together over the past year. Our next 25 years are looking bright because of you! Read the newsletter here.
Volunteer at the Phoenix Parents Winter Spruce Up!
After listening to feedback from teachers, Phoenix Parents would like to offer a Mid-Year Classroom Day to assist staff with needs they have inside their classrooms, around the building, and on the campus! Please join us on Saturday, January 11 to help with indoor projects along with some outdoor projects, weather permitting. The participation of other family members is also warmly welcomed. All you need to bring is your willingness to help - after all, many hands make light work. Plan to be at RCHS from 8:30 am to 11:30am. Sign up to volunteer here.
Show Your School Spirit: Order Phoenixwear Online!
Our new online store features everything from T-shirts to pajama pants to tote bags. You can even sport swag for your favorite RCHS athletics team with a large selection of items for each sport. Orders are processed “on-demand” which means the store is always open! You can choose to have your order shipped directly to your home for a fee or to school for free. Visit the Phoenix Parents page for more information and shop online here.
Senior Items for the Class of 2025
Senior Yearbook Ads & Portraits
Senior Portraits
Seniors are invited to submit their own portraits for inclusion in the 2025 RCHS yearbook. Senior portraits can be taken by a professional or amateur photographer of your choice -- you can even take the photo at home just using your phone!
The portrait should focus on the student's face and the senior should be the only person pictured. Final photos will be presented in a rectangular format. Please email your digital senior portrait to yearbook@raleighcharterhs.org with the student's name in the subject line. Senior portraits are due by Friday, January 17, 2025. If you have questions, please contact yearbook@raleighcharterhs.org.
Please note that seniors will be photographed on Picture Day for their student IDs. If seniors do not submit a separate portrait, we will use their photo from Picture Day in the yearbook.
Senior Ads
The yearbook staff is providing an opportunity for senior parents to feature their seniors in the yearbook. Ad sizes range from a full page to ¼ page. Ad options and instructions are linked here. To order a senior ad, complete these two steps:
-
Send an email to yearbook@raleighcharterhs.org that includes the following: the name of your senior, the page size selected, the template letter selected, all pictures (as jpegs), all text, and any special requests that you have.
-
Mail your payment to the school. We are accepting checks payable to RCHS. Please make sure to put "Yearbook ad, Student Name" in the memo line. Checks should be dropped off in the school office or mailed to school: 1307 Glenwood Ave Raleigh, NC 27605.
All senior ad materials are due Friday, January 17, 2025. Yearbook ordering information will be available later in the school year.
Caps & Gowns
Caps and gowns must be ordered through the Jostens website - RCHS is not accepting payment for caps and gowns. The only required items are the cap, tassel, and gown. The cap and gown unit (which includes the tassel) is $37. Here is a direct link to the cap, tassel, and gown unit. If you need to order part of this package (only a tassel, for example), please call the Jostens Raleigh office at 919-789-8500. Financial assistance is available. Please contact Sarita McIver at smciver@raleighcharterhs.org if you need financial assistance.
Supporting Excellent Education at RCHS
Give a gift to the Phoenix Fund today!
We are committed to an educational model defined by small classes taught by experienced, passionate, dedicated teachers. We have seen great success using this model and it continues to be a critical part of our mission. However, these small classes and experienced teachers come at a significant financial cost. Our 2024-25 Phoenix Fund video explains our financial challenges and how you can help.
Contributions from our school community make it possible for us to provide excellent education to our students today and for years to come.
Your gifts support Raleigh Charter’s mission of educating knowledgeable, thoughtful, contributing citizens of the world. Your donations give us the ability to:
-
keep classes small
-
attract and retain excellent teachers and staff
-
provide our students and classrooms with essential resources such as Chromebooks and textbooks and basic supplies like dry erase markers and paper
-
pay for our mortgage and building maintenance
